MyConsumerGuide Says:
Even if you aren't ready to bid or sell, MyConsumerGuide recommends that you register on eBay NOW for several reasons:
1. When you first register, you are identified with shaded sunglasses next to your name. This tells sellers you are new. After 30 days, these sunglasses are removed.
The sooner you sign up, the sooner you develop a sense of trust!
2. You will need to register to use My eBay, which is one of eBay's best features. Here, you can store items for sale that you are interested in, and may consider bidding on! Also, if you are selling, this tool is indespensible. Get used to this tool, it will save you money and make eBay easier!
3. Registration is still Free. (These days, nothing online stays free for long.) So, get your registration now whether you are bidding or not!
Some eBay Registration Tips:
A Credit Card is NOT Required for Registration, unless...
A credit card, Visa debit card, or MasterCard debit card is required if you are registering using an anonymous email address from Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. Your card will not be charged and will only be used for verification purposes as registration is free on eBay.
Choosing Your User Name...
If you are a bidder, select a name you will remember (i.e. "Jim2001"). If you are a seller, choose something that identifies your area of expertise (i.e. "BestRareBooks"). If you don't specialize, then choose something generic(i.e. "TheBargainFinder").
If you are stumped, don't worry. If you do not choose a User ID, eBay uses your email address. And, if you don't like your name, you can change it once every 30 days.
A final word... Once you get used to eBay, you will consider browsing eBay whenever you are shopping online. MyConsumerGuide often recommends using eBay over traditional merchants to save up to hundreds of dollars on popular products.
